Club events are coordinated by Sāmoa Events / O Swim NZ on a kōhā-donation basis for club members to cover the operational costs of events. The club exists to support a community-based, non-commercial swimming environment focused on participation, safety, and connection rather than paid public events. Activities are primarily for members, new swimmers are most welcome to join the Ocean Swim Club Inc. and become part of our very supportive swimming community by paying the annual membership fee of $20.

Time: 10 am 

Description: well-marked 1 km circuit around the Kohimarama buoys. How many laps can you do? 

Cost: Free club activity. New swimmers are welcome to join the club by paying the annual membership fee of $20

Weekly on Saturday all year

Moana Reserve at Ōrewa Beach. Alternative weather venue at Hatfields Beach 

Time: 9 am

Description: Swim along the beach and back to Moana Reserve at your pace and distance. 

Cost: Free members' activity. New swimmers are welcome to join in and become club members by paying the annual membership fee of $20.

Kaukau-ō-Matariki

Friday 10 July 2026 - Kaukau, kawhe & Kai @ Kohi o Matariki
He kaukau haerenga mō ngā mema o te karapu me ngā mema hou. Ka tīmata i te Karapu Waka o Tāmaki YC, ā, ka mutu ki Kohimarama (Kohi). Kawea mai he hupa wera, he kawhe, he paramanawa hoki hei tohatoha i muri i te kaukau. Bring and share a hot soup, coffee, snacks to share after the swim. Journey swim for club members and new members. Starts at the Tāmaki Yacht Club and finishes at Kohi. Wetsuit only. Tow float mandatory. 

Recommended donation: $20 (new members, add membership fee of $20 to your koha)

Whangaparāoa Teams Relay - 6 Jan 2027

Teams Relay around the Peninsula.

Start/Finish: Arkles Bay - Stanmore Bay

Distance: 23 km

Who: Club members and other groups are welcome to enter a team.

Requirements: 3-person team, boat per team, tow floats mandatory.

Entry: Free club event. Reserve days: 5 & 7 January
